TMS320F28375S: TMS320F28375S USB transient noise

Part Number: TMS320F28375S

Respected sir,

I am using USB in my motor control application. The USB works fine till i start the switching of IGBT in POWER section. The transient noise gets added on the D+ and D- lines. So what are the options to remove this noise??    My D+ and D- lines are directly going to the USB connector from controller. I have not used any component in between. I am attaching the snap of noise free and noisy signal.

Regards,

Digvijay

  • Hi Digvijay,

Can you explain what your hardware setup is? Is this a custom board you made?

How are the USB D+ and D- signals routed on your board? Are they differentially routed correctly?

Please see the below App Report "High-speed Interface Layout Guidelines". See sections 2 and 3.

  • Respected sir,

                    Sorry for the late reply.

Yes i am using custom board and custom power card.  These boards are inter connected through connector( Carrying PWM signals).

About routing i can not say much as i have not designed the PCB. The D+ and D- tracks go through the inner layer of multi layered PCB. PTH's have been used for tracks.

After connecting the earth to the USB connector the noise have been reduced but still it is not able to communicate.

    Digvijay

  • Hi Digvijay,

Can you explain your process of testing/probing the signals? What sort of hardware connections are you making?

Do you have access to the PCB design files?

    Best,
    Kevin
  • Hi Digvijay,

Were you able to figure this issue out? If so, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread.
