CCS/TMS320F28335: Lost connection between Code Composer and F28335 experimental kit Hardware

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

When I connect a power stage composed by IGBT power module (it's a safety module) with all the required connection, When I connect the Experimental Kit to control the power stage, when I stop PWM the FTDI chip failed to connect to CCS, but the F28335 still working. Also I used an isolator between PC and the Experimental Kit. It's makes that I can see the value of the global variables and the rest of options available of CCS. The power moduel has their control and output Isolated. When I restart the code composer the FTDI still working. Anybody Kno How I can solve it? Should I isolate the outputs of the experimental Kit? Thanks!

  • Rafa,

Are you using the on-board XDS100v1 debug probe or connecting your own external JTAG probe to the 14 pin header?

    Best,

    Matthew

  • Dear Matthew,

I am using the on-board XDS100v1 debug probe. And I only have one connection between the Experimental Kit and the power stage composed for IGBT, 1 PWM and the GND. I'am thinking to isolate the Experimental kit with an ISO, but I am not sure if with this the problem will be solved. Normally When I started to use the n-board XDS100v1 debug probe works correctly, and I use the power stage with soft start PWM the experimental kit and the CCS works, but when I use the tripzone to  stop the PWM instantly the CCS stop debugging and CCS seems to be freeze. Also appeared a message that something happens to n-board XDS100v1.

    Thanks!

    Rafa
