CCS/SM320F28335-HT: Motor library package for F28335, where it stand now since 2017/2018

Part Number: SM320F28335-HT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

I note there no high temp newer C2000 MCU that replace F28835. Most newer MCU with improved motor supports are all 125C max. Which mean instantspin cannot be used.

We have old motor project half finish in 2017/2018 and we wish to restart development, I was checking the Ti website and found it has changed.

Can you summarise what has changed for the past 3-4 years and how supports are affected, relating to old F28335 and newer generation MCU?

In the case of 125C temp project, which MCU should I be using for the fastest spin and stop action (24V/48V 50-100W BLDC).

In the case of F28835, what method available for the fastest spin/stop action. Is there paper to cover this topic.

  • Correct, no additional HT rated C2000 devices, F28335 was the last.

F28335 motor applications are supported through controlSUITE .  There are sensorless and encoder based examples.

Newer generation products have some support in controlSUITE but all newer support is in C2000Ware-MotorControl-SDK

There is an enhanced version of latest F2837x, but not an HT version
