TMS320F28335: Will the TZ circuit for over current protection be active and take effect on EPWM output, when the code runaway

Part Number: TMS320F28335

Hi Expert,

If there's abnormal interrupt or signal interference causing the code runaway in C28x core, at the same time, the current is overflow, will the OCP TZ circuit still active and take effect on EPWM output?

By the way, the minimum react period of watchdog is 256*0.1us, right?

Thanks!

Best Regards

Rayna

  • Rayna,

the TZ circuit will still take affect as long as the run away code hasn't changed the configuration of the TZ.

Also if the GPxMUXy register changed due to the runaway code then the PWM output may no longer be controlling the GPIO's output buffer. So that could cause some issues too.

These are small risks, be sure to use the configuration lock registers, some features on C2000 devices can be protected from being over written.

    Regards,
    Cody
