Hello Champs,
In F28388S 176-pin package, GPIO72 and GPIO84 needs to be used as boot mode selection pins to be both pulled up so that codes can run from internal flash.
But GPIO72(pin139) is the only pin that can be used as ESC_TX1_DATA3 and GPIO84(pin154) is the only pin that can be used as ESC_TX0_ENA.
If EtherCAT function should be used, will the pull-up states in GPIO72 and GPIO84 have effect on the normal running of EtherCAT?
Would you please kindly help? Thanks!
Best Regards,
Linda
Hi Linda,
When EtherCAT is used, ESC_TX1_DATA3 & ESC_TX0_ENA are both outputs from the C2000. As a result, the external circuitry will not affect the ability for the C2000 to successfully boot.
The pull-resistors do not create an issue with running EtherCAT, as long as they are not too strong. Would recommend a pull resistor no stronger than 2.2Kohm - ideally something more like 4.7Kohm - 22Kohm.
Thank you,
Brett.
