Hi,
Can you give a bit more detail on the issue that you are facing.
The Quick Start Guide document for this kit can be found at the following path once controlSUITE is installed:
\controlSUITE\development_kits\Lighting_DCDC_v2.2\~GUI\QSG-Lighting_DCDC.pdf
Thank you,
Brett
Hi,
Comments:
1) If you click "Connect" in the GUI, what happens?
2) When you try and connect, on the LED backlighting motherboard, are both LD2 and [M2]-LD1 lit? (this determines if the kit is being powered fully)
3) When the kit is connected and powered, do you see a new "USB Serial Port" listed under "Ports (COM & LPT)" in Windows Device Manager (versus when you don't have the cables connected)?
4) Does LD3 on the controlCARD blink about once every second when the board is powered?
Thank you,
Brett
Hi MW,
OK, it appears that Windows and the drivers are working correctly. It also appears that you've set up the board (and the various jumpers) correctly.

At this point, I suspect that you may have received a controlCARD which was not programmed with code which talks with the GUI. Please see the following E2E thread.
https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/c2000/f/171/t/57174
NOTE: I would recommend using the Lighting Kit's GUI and software found inside controlSUITE (instead of any code found inside the kit's USB stick):
\controlSUITE\development_kits\Lighting_DCDC_v2.2\~GUI\
Hopefully this helps!
Thank you,
Brett
Hi MW,
You'll need to install controlSUITE, if you haven't already:
http://www.ti.com/tool/controlsuite
Thank you,
Brett
Based on the image you posted in your previous post (from 21July), it appears that the project was not able to compile correctly. I say this because it looks like you have red text in the console window which is underneath the "Error" dialog box.
If I am correct, what compiler errors are you seeing?
Thank you,
Brett
Hello Brett,
I have recently installed CCS v6 from TI website as someone suggested that I was using older version, when I use Target configuration I see "Texas Instruments XDS100V1 USB Debub Probe" instead of "Texas Instruments XDS100V1 USB Emulator" as shown in the attachment below!
Are they same can I start with it or not?
Thanks
