I recently purchased a BOOSTXL-POSMGR to experiment on how to interface a resolver with a TMS320F28379D (with a TMDSDOCK28379D) .

Before powering the 15V, I noticed the rails on U12 are swapped, if compared to the schematic for your previous board TMDSRSLVR_v1.0 From the datasheet of that Opamp also it is clear that pin4 is ground and pin 8 is the +15V.

Am I missing something important or is there an actual mistake on your board?

    Which software are you trying to use with POSMGR board? Currently, the software released supports only the EnDat, BiSS-C and T-Format protocols.
    Software for the same is available at C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\BOOSTXL_POSMGR\v01_01_00_00
    These are digital absolute encoder protocols. Also, there is no 15v support for this board as of now - it may be added in future. For evaluating resolver application TMDSRSLVR_v1.0 is the right platform.

    I am adapting the code for the 28335 that comes with TMDSRSLVR, this is not compatible with the 28379D anyway.

    My plan is to use jumper wires to the POSMGR. (Some soldering is required, I'm happy with that)

    I am swapping the pins, i believe that is a mistake on your board that will need fixing before supporting 15V. Did you had a chance to verify this?

    I haven't tested it yet, i can post pictures when I'll do so.

  • Hi, We didn't implement/verify this 15v function on the board. This board is only tested with the 3 absolute encoder protocols mentioned above, for which s/w is also released. But, I think, your observation is correct. The pin connection for 15v seem incorrect to me.
