Hi

i just got  the DRV830x-HC-C2-KIT from texas instruments. I am new to it and want to know from where to start. I have downloaded the controlsuite and CCS. I opened some sample projects as noted in the how to start guide but I didnt understand the huge code. Please advise from where to start and how learn about this kit.

Regards

  • Hi Abdallah,

Are you wanting to focus on the hardware or software aspects of the kit? or both?

Is there a specific SW project you're wanting to learn more about (i.e. BLDC, PM Sensorless, etc.)?

Please review all the docs available within ControlSUITE to get stated:

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\DRV830x-HC-C2-KIT_v105\~Docs

If you haven't already, please install motorWARE. The Lab user guide should be a good resource for you, located at the directory below:

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_18\docs\labs\instaspin_labs.pdf

    Best,

Yes I am interested in both. My professor asked me to learn on it and to program a V/f control as a start. I want to reach a point that I could understand the code functions and what they access on the board . And to know when to use CCS and when to use the gui. I am getting lost from where to start. If there is steps please advise.

    Thank you

    Hi Abdallah,

I think the documents mentioned above will be a good starting point. If you find that you need a better understanding of the devices being used you can see their respective documentation.

For the C2000 F28035 device the TRM is a good document to reference: http://www.ti.com/lit/sprui10

For the DRV8301 I'd check the docs on the product page: www.ti.com/.../DRV8301

C2000ware is a good resource if you're wanting to focus on C2000 device software, you can download it here www.ti.com/.../C2000WARE. The examples typically focus on a specific module of the device.

    Best,
    Kevin
