TMS320F28027: Impact of Errata ADC: InitialConversion

Part Number: TMS320F28027

Hello,

we are looking for a difficult bug.

It's a older Device so we use, against the Errata, the first sample. (triggered by PWM).

The Question is: how does this bug affect the measurement of the first sample?

Will we measure zero?

Or will we measure random values?

Or does the measured value depend on the previous one?

Some background information would help us to locate the error (it's also possible that the bug is coming from a other point)

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards

Markus

  • Hi Markus,

If you meet the conditions outlined in the errata yet still use the first sample, the value may not be correct. This is not to say that it will measure zero, but that the reading simply may not be the correct conversion result. We have not seen any correlation in the first sample result with that of the previous one in a different series.

Would it be possible to discard the first sample in your application? Note that the errata includes other workarounds that you can use to figure out if the bug is related to using the first sample or not.

    Best Regards,

    Marlyn
