TMS320F28379S: Position Manager EnDat22

Part Number: TMS320F28379S

Hi,

I am quoting the follwing issue. Can you please help proposing possible solutions?

The main problem is that input 1 of the inputXBar is used for a TripZone in our application (and so is input 2 and 3) and is not available for the enDat library.

Can we use an input other than 1,2,3 on the inputXBar? I.e we do not need a TripZone for the endat library to work.

Regards,

Gokhan

  • Hello,

INPUTXBAR4, 5 and 6 are also available on the CLB X-BAR.  Refer to the device technical reference manual - Table 9-3 (CLB X-BAR MUX)

  • Hello,

we are struggling with the position manager library EnDat22. You mention the Table 9-3 but to which document and version ?

The actual implementation of the Position Library uses INPUTXBAR1, which is already used by our application. Can you provide us a step by step instruction how to re-configure the INPUTXBAR1 to another input of the XBAR inside the position library

    Hello, Davide

The technical reference manual (TRM) is available on the product folder for the particular device family (http://www.ti.com/product/TMS320F28379S).  You can also look at the top of this thread and the system added a link to the product folder at the top as shown in this screenshot.  On the product folder page it will be the first document, right under the datasheet (2nd screenshot).

The actual implementation of the Position Library uses INPUTXBAR1, which is already used by our application. Can you provide us a step by step instruction how to re-configure the INPUTXBAR1 to another input of the XBAR inside the position library

    Davide,

I haven't tried this myself but my thought is after configuration you could potentially undo the INPUTXBAR1 config and replace it with one of the other INPUTXBARs.  As long as it enters the same signal into the CLB.   Take a look at the doc and let me know if this makes sense?

  • Hello Lori,

we don't know the internal configuration of the position manager, we don't want to make a reverse engineering. Could you tell us the internal configuration of the XBAR when using this library ? Since TI is the position manager library owner I think you are able to access this information easily.

  • Hi Davide,  My understanding is we are working to get you early access to the source code.  This will show the setup to you.

  • Hi Lori,

thanks to the beta source code we could change the configuration and set up the interface to the EnDat encoder.
