TMS320F28377D: Supported application (Aerospace)

Part Number: TMS320F28377D

Hi team,

I have questions related to the supported application, specifically Aerospace.

TMS320F28377D-EP datasheet clearly states “Supports Defense, Aerospace, and Medical Applications. Also TMS320F28377D-EPs temp range is extended to -55 to 125 .

On the other hand, TMS320F28377D datasheet does not say it supports Aerospace, and it has lower temp limit as -40.

My questions are:

Does TMS320F28377D support Aerospace application?

If -40℃ is enough for the system, can I use TMS320F28377D for Aerospace application?

What is the difference between device supports Aerospace and device does not support Aerospace?

Best regards,

  • Hasegawa-san,

This is really up to the system designer's discretion.  For C2000, there is typically no (or very little) difference in the underlying design between the -EP and non-EP versions of a given part number.  The list of example applications is intended to help gain attention, rather than disqualify unlisted applications.

As you have noted, the supported operating conditions for -EP devices are extended beyond the non-EP offerings.  Performance specifications and operating hours are sometimes de-rated to accommodate the extended range.  Factory testing is also customized accordingly.
