MSP430F5638: boot.c opens and exit() is highlighted

I've never seen this happen. Does this mean your other two threads posted earlier have been resolved?

According to Section 4.3.2 Run-Time Initialization in the MSP430 Optimizing C/C++ Compiler v21.6.0.LTS User's Guide, exit() is called when main() returns. If main() never returns (e.g. endless while(1) loop), exit() should never get called.
