MSP430FR6047: BSL launch after flash

Hi MSP team,

I have a question regarding the MSP430FR6047.

In my customers application, they are launching the BSL via software launch (i.e. function pointer) and the "pin test" is not used to launch the BSL coming out of reset.

The test TI script was modified to recover in case of errors due to a previous hardware issue. In the event that the test TI script gets erased, is it possible for BSL to launch automatically?

In this scenario is it possible to recover from a failed BSL operation through BSL functions on a "blank" MSP430 - Erased program space but not entire flash.

Hi Steven,

Let me make sure I understand... the customer is using the SW entry (jump to BSL vector) and not the HW entry, which requires the control of RST and TST pins. The customer is also using a modified script that runs on the MSP430 that allows a BSL recovery if there was a previous HW issue. But if the script is erased, is it possible for the BSL to launch automatically? Do I have this correct?

According the SLAU550 FRAM BSL guide, the device will enter BSL mode automatically if just the reset vector is erased.
