Hi,

We are using MSP430fr5734 and are trying to flash it using Spy Bi Wire interface from MSP430-FET.

The connections are as follows:

1. On board VCC_3V3 -> VCC_Target of MSP-FET

2. GND -> GND of MSP-FET

3. TEST -> TCK of MSP-FET

4. RST -> TDI/TDO of MSP-FET

We are unable to flash the device. The resistor and capacitor at RST pin are as specified in the datasheet.

Is this because of password protection?

Is so, what is the default password to be entered into the target configuration file?

    With JTAG secured fuse or by password protected, device still will be detected by SBW master. What software is used and what error is reported?

    If device firmware is locked and firmware update is not possible by SBW interface, than device can be returned back to factory (mass erased) state by BSL.

    You may experience problems with SBW if the two programming lines are longer than about 10 cm. I know the capacitor can’t exceed 2 nF.
