MSP430F5249: Question regarding DCO frequency

Part Number: MSP430F5249

Hi Jace,

Following up from this post (my customer had another question): https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp-low-power-microcontrollers-group/msp430/f/msp-low-power-microcontroller-forum/1088843/msp430f5249-does-it-come-with-pre-programmed-registers

They wanted to verify something on the DSO. Say they checked a typical unit, and used that calibration for 24MHz. From the graph, DCORSEL = 6, and say DCOx =18, they took the min and max from table 8.19, and plotted it on the typical graph of Figure 8.11.

So with the same calibration settings in other units (say fixed in software), the DCO tolerance could be 15.5MHz to 36MHz? (see their example graph below).

Should they run a calibration in their final test fixture on each unit to eliminate the possible error?

Thanks,
Lauren
