MSP430F5659: Need calculation in MIPS

In short, you can examine MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second) as the number of instructions a CPU can execute in one second. To calculate this, a user would divide the clock frequency of the MCU by the average number clock cycles an instruction takes on that MCU. For the MSP430 instructions can range from 1 to 6 clock cycles per instruction. DMIPS (D standing for Drhystones) are a measure that attempts to take into account the efficiency of a processor, as for some processors, instructions may take few clock cycles, but accomplish rather little. For example, one processor might complete an instruction in an average of 2 clock cycles, while another might average 5. But the processor that completes an instruction in 2 clock cycles may take 6 instructions to complete an operation, while the second may only take two. So the second processor is faster, but the first has a better MIPS value. DMIPS value is determined using Drhystone benchmark testing, and does not have a simple conversion factor as one might think.
