MSP430FR5043: Using the MSP430FR5043 solution for gas metering, questions about excitation waves and echo waveforms and transducers

Part Number: MSP430FR5043

Hi Team,

There's an issue from the customer need your help:

Can you provide the oscilloscope test waveforms of the excitation wave and echo, (the excitation wave is preferably a frequency sweep) and how to judge the flow channel used from the waveform, and the transducer is well matched? The best way I know is to do an actual flow test with air or solid air. But we want to have a judgment from the waveform. In addition, how to test and measure the dynamic index of the transducer? Thanks.

Could you help check this case?

Thanks & Regards,

Ben

  • Hi Ben

    Please refer to this document:

USS GUI -> Help -> User Guide:

  • Hi Xiaodong,

This is the operating instructions of the USS GUI, what I need is the waveform of the excitation wave and echo of the oscilloscope test as shown below, and how to judge the flow channel from the echo waveform, the transducer is well matched. For example, the frequency of the echo waveform, the amplitude, the rise, the fall time and other indicators.

    Best Regards,

    Ben

  • Hi Xiaodong,

    Is there any update?

  • Hi Ben,

Upload a waveform as your reference:

I find your waveform include too much noise:

Maybe you can try to check hardware, Gain value, looks you should decrease Gain value, in my test, Gain = 9.8dB.

    Thanks!

    Best Regards

    Johnson
