EVM430-FR6043: Changing Signal Sampling Rate

Part Number: EVM430-FR6043

Hi: I'm using the MSP430-FR6043 , and I have a question about the signal sampling frequency.

Currently , it seems set to 1 MHz, and if I hover over the "signal sampling frequecny" box, I see a table showing the various signal sampling frequencies, for the 80 MHz HSPLL.

I see if I can set the OSR to 160, the signal sampling rate will be 500 KHz..

The question is, how can I get a 500 KHz signal sampling rate ? I see the "Oversampling Rate box" is greyed out, I cant change it to 160.

Please advise any comments,

regards,

Doug

  • Hi Doug,

This box is greyed out because changing it would result in an invalid PLL frequency.

You'll notice that if you increase the Signal Sampling Frequency, the ADC OSR adjusts automatically.

You may find it helpful to view this post and the first 3 responses for more information on this. Beyond the first 3 replies the topic changes to different questions so no need to go beyond that.

I believe that by adjusting the header files as described in that post you should be able to achieve a signal sampling frequency of 500kHz by setting it to that value, and by setting the OSR to 160. However you will have to edit the code yourself to do this, as the USS GUI will not let you.

Let me know if this resolves things for you and if you're able to do this.
