MSP430F5418: Issue afterwriting data to BSL memory 0x1010

Tool/software:

Hi TI,

we are using MSP430F5418 in our product.

Here I tried to write 4 bytes of data starting at location 0x1010. (BSL memory). after write, im able to read successfully.

but after restarting the device, I see my device is stuck. looks like device is not booting.

could you please look into this?

Hi,

It seems the boot code is damaged.

Since your device is a non-A version. Customer should avoid using BSL memory, right?

Hi Cash Hao,

there was some issue with current settings in power supply. Now the device is booting.

We are not using Boot loader fucntionality.

and we are facing short of non-volatile memory for our storage.

so we are using this area.

will there be default TI provided bootloader in that area?

if so what is the memory used by TI boot loader code? so that we can use remainig memory?

Hi,

I would suggest to read out these data from a default MCU. And try write it back to the failed one.
