Tool/software:
Hello E2E Experts,
Good day.
I've been out of this topic for a long time and came across the CC430F6147 again through a USB WMBUS stick CC1101. I have a CC430F6147 chip on an older and broken WMBUS board and would like to read the information on this chip. Is it possible to solder the CC430F6147 onto another TI board and read the data on the CC430F6147 using a TI programming device/debugger etc. and suitable TI software? If so, what kind of board do I need to solder the CC430F6147 onto and what additional hardware and software do I need for this?
Regards,
TI-CSC
Hi,
If you resolder the CC430F6147 onto another board then you should be able to communicate with it. The following thread describes the available options and information: https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp-low-power-microcontrollers-group/msp430/f/msp-low-power-microcontroller-forum/506238/design-resource-of-cc430f6147
What is the use-case for resoldering this specific device? It may be simpler to just use a new board/device as these EVMs are no longer manufactured.
We also have more recent Sub-1 GHz wireless SoCs (the CC13x1x family) but they use an ARM processor.
Regards,
Zack
