Hi,

Our flow-rate setup consists of flexible tubing, and we are clamping on our transducers. We are interested in using the VFR + Temperature Calibration but have noticed that the transducer length changes with temperature fluctuations and throws off the temperature measurement via ToF. We assume our tubing is becoming softer / firmer at different temperatures (testing in progress). Are there any recommendations to allow for fluctuations in transducer path length?

Hi,

In this case, I would directly suggest to use an external temperature sensor to get the temperature data. Using the estimating method through absTOF result will not work when the transducer path changes.

Hi Cash,

Sorry follow-up question! Before we perform the VFR+temperature calibration, we do the General calibration step to set our meter constant. Are there specific conditions we must perform that under or can the liquid be any temperature during that general step? (Do we need to repeat the general calibration at each different temperature level we want to calibrate to)?

Hi,

There is no special conditions to perform the general calibration. And you do not need to repeat it at each temperature level. Usually, doing it once at room temperature is enough.
