Tool/software:

i am accessing the BSL mass erasing and giving the default password.

i have a log file I generated from the BSL scripter, as a guide.

i am now trying to flash the firmware, however I am not generating the correct checksum .

1. From a TI-generated txt file 1 record only

2. This is the first record transmitted by Ti's scripter software
[80] [0c] [00] [10] [0a] [00] [00] [02] [40] [00] [00] [00] [00] [00] [00] [de] [e3]

3. This is my generated stream; the checksum does not match.
[80] [0C] [00] [10] [0A] [00] [00] [02] [40] [00] [00] [00] [00] [00] [00] [A4] [FF]

in my embedded environment, the scripter stream writes and responds correctly.
My generated byte stream does no work and hangs on reading an ACK from the BSL.

What am I doing wrong

Hi,

I would suggest to refer to this app note and inside the provided demo project. You can find an API name softwareCRC() which calculates the CRC checksum.

Hi Cash,

I suspect there may be an issue with my conversion process from TI .txt to .h.

I started with a CCS-generated .txt file, which reloads correctly using CCS or UniFlash. To use it with my BSL software, I ran a Python script to convert the .txt file into a the .h file containing data records. These records are then used in a routine to flash the TI chip.

While the flashing process generally works, two of the records triggered an error from the BSL in the i2c read. I skipped those records at runtime, and the remaining 320 out of 322 were successfully flashed. However, this workaround isn’t ideal and raises concerns about handling other .txt files in the same way.

Is there a tool available that can reliably convert a .txt file into a C-readable array?
