MSP430.dll initialization error with Elprotronic FET MSP430 Flash Programmer

Hi, 

My customer is trying to program the MSP430 using the Elprotronic FET MSP430 Flash Programmer. He is using the Lite version of the same. 

But every time he tries to program the device, it gives an error msg - 

MSP430.dll initialization error with Elprotronic FET MSP430 Flash Programmer

Check communication port setup or connection with the FET Adapter. 

He is using Win 7 and has licensed version of CCS V4 running on his PC. 

He is using Launchpad based 2-wire programming. 

Please advice how to sort out this problem. 

Is there any other way that MSP430 can be re-programmed?

    As I understand your client is trying to upload firmware in a Launchpad with the Elprotronic FET MSP430 Flash Programmer?

    What do you mean with “He is using Launchpad based 2-wire programming. ”?

    For successful programming, three things must be checked:

    1) the LaunchPad successfully enumerates as MSP430 application UART

    2) nobody else is using this COM port (some mouse dirvers or smartphone sync drivers tend to hijack COM ports)

    3) The software is configured to "TI's FET, USB-Fet...' and 'USB->TIUSB' (USB->automatic, or pick the COM port)

    any update on the issues i think MSP430 FET debugger firmware is corrupted how to reflash it
