USB stopped working on LaunchPad, CCS v5.1.1, USB COM port for MSP430 is gone

Hello,

After plugging in a few different LaunchPads with the CC1100L AIR Module, the USB port stopped working. debmgmt.msc shows that the USB COM port is missing. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling CCS, but no luck.

Found the problem,

USB lockup ends up being a common problem in HP xw6400 PCs, specially when you plug things in-and-out on a regular basis.

I have the same problem on an IBM PC kevin, so I think it must be something in Windows.

Trust me Curt,

I found out that this is a known problem with that specific HP PC. The only way to fix the USB problem is to clear out the CMOS configuration on the motherboard. Weird, eh?
