MSP-EXP430F5529 (experimenter board): delay,display wrong characters and no usb echo

Hello Fabio,

I have successfully reproduced this problem on both Windows 7 and Windows XP using different terminal programs (HyperTerminal, RealTerm, and hTerm). I have brought this issue to the attention of the maintainers of the application and we will work to resolve this.

On a related note, I have isolated this to a Windows centric issue. I tried this out on Ubuntu Linux with GtkTerm and it works without issue.

has there been any progress with this problem?  I have been experiencing similar problems with the Echo demo application - inconsistent PC ==> MSP commnication (slow, and occasionally losing bytes) and no echo at all.

What I wanted to do is to use the EXP430F5529 board as a test bed, i.e. to stream data down to MSP430 at a modest speed (~ 10 - 20 kBits/s), process them with our algorithms, and send the output stream back to the PC. After a month, I am still unsuccessfully trying to make the Echo application talk to the PC.  Tried different terminal applications, as well as MATLAB and C scripts that attempt to talk directly to the COM port, all to no avail.

We have updated the User Experience Demo for the 5529 Experimenters board to fix some of these issues. Note that the incorrect characters on the LCD is a HyperTerminal issue. Please reference this previous post for details

I have the similar problem.

I use the Terminal Echo app (The latest User Experience Firmware as below link and OS Windows 7) on MSP-EXP430F5529 demo board, and I still have the following problem:

1. As I type every character, I can’t get any character back to the terminal.
2. As I type every character, I can’t see any character printed on the LCD.

Having this problem as well. Using Parallels, Windows 7 32bit pro. The hello world example works, but terminal echo does not. I downloaded the new UE above. Also, the discussion link fails with "no group found".
