eZ430-RF2500 - Problems linking transmitter to receiver

Hi,

I'm developing an application based on the Solar Energy Harvester Code (eZ430-RF2500-SEH) and I'm having a lot of trouble with it. The receiver and transmitter often do not establish a link and so the receiver goes into permanent sleep mode. I have to reboot it (by cycling power) to even try again and it usually does not work. From looking at TI documents it seems like the problem is with the receiver/computer connection via USB. The only thing that works (and it only works sometime) is to reboot the computer and then plug in the receiver. Sometimes this will work and then I can receive data from the transmitter board. Even when it does work I often have to cycle the power on the transmitter in order to get it going - i.e. it does not work on the first power up but works on the second, and on any subsequent cycles. Another thing I notice a lot is that when I power up the transmitter, the Access Node bubble on the PC software will hang (stop updating) for several seconds and then start updating again.

I'm curious if anyone else has seen this behavior, and if so does anyone know how to fix it.

I have tried both versions of the firmware - my devices shipped with 1.3 but I have downloaded 1.5 from the TI site.

It's quite painful because I am making frequent code changes (10+ /hour) and each time I reprogram the device I have to pray that it will communicate with the receiver when I power it up. So any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
