I am trying to upload a program to my MSP430 board over MSP-FET430UIF.
I arranged the jumpers as user guide described, PWR2 disconnected, PWR1 connected, BATT not connected, VCC1 connected to FET, VCC2 not connected.
When I try to upload a basic blink program to the board I receive:
TI MSP430 USB1/MSP430
Error connecting to the targer:
Unknown device
If I activate PWR2 pin and try again I get:
Error connecting to the target: The target setup (MSP430FG4618) does not match the actual target type (MSP430F20x3)
I also have MSP-EXP430G2 board and I have no problem with sending a program to it with same Code Composer Studio.
I attached picture of the board and pins.
Hi,
you are using the MSP-EXP430FG4618 kit which has basically 2 MSPs on-board: MSP430FG4618 and MSP430F2013, and there are two JTAG headers on board.
Please refer to the kit User's Guide - http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slau213a/slau213a.pdf - especially Appendix A and B for the pinout and jumper configurations.
The pins and settings were all correct, MSP-FET430UIF was not working. I returned it and got another one and everything is working now.
