MSP430F5338 Strange BSL reply for BSL VERSION CMD

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F5338

Hello everyone,

I am working on a BSL interface for a MSP430F5338 device and while doing some TX/RX tests with the BSL. I found a strange reply for the BSL VERSION command (0x19).

Packet sent (hex notation): 80 01 00 19 E8 62
Reply: 00 80 02 00 2B 04 E4 84

The reply packet looks ok to me (2 bytes of data where returned, 2B 04), however, based on slau319h it should a larger packet, with 4 useful bytes indicating the BSL Version Number.

Could someone shed some light on it?

Gabriel

  • Hi,

the reply seems to be "out of spec", do you see the issue repeatedly? which hardware interface and host software are you using?

would be interesting also to know the revision code and LOT code of the MSP430F5338 target.
