Doing something only possible on our ultra-low-power MSP430FRx FRAM microcontrollers, we created the Compute Through Power Loss (CTPL) software utility. This library enables saving of the CPU and peripheral states into FRAM memory, which opens up two new possibilities:
The expanded use of Low-power modes (LPMs) x.5 - reduces complexity and time associated with starting up from a low-power mode where system state is not traditionally retained
Intelligent system state restoration after power failure - shuts down gracefully and reduces current consumption and time on wakeup
This new utility leverages the speed and endurance of FRAM technology, providing simple APIs to enable this new functionality on any MSP430FR5x/6x microcontrollers.
Check it out in this TI Design featuring the new MSP-EXP430FR6989!
William,
I'm looking for the linker scripts in the CTPL distribution for the GNU linker. I'm using the 'FR5989, stand-alone tool chain, developing under linux.
Under src/ctpl/device/msp430fr5989, I found a linker script for IAR and one that looks like it's for TI's linker, but no .ld files.
Can you point me in the right direction to find this?
Thanks,
- Chuck
