Hi Team,

I am new to TI MCUs. I have just received MSP430F1232 .

Can we made custom serial programmer using USB to TTL converter for MSP430 series.

Is MSP430 series are serial programmable with inbuilt bootloader.

Hi Rishad,

Welcome to using TI MCUs! The MSP430F1232 does have serial onboard programming. Page 11 of the datasheet (www.ti.com/.../msp430f1232.pdf) talks about using the BSL.

Hi Rishad,

For programming the MSP430 devices we recommend using the MSP-FET tool. You can also have a look at the MSP430 Replicator (www.ti.com/.../rep430f).

Please consult the development tools at the bottom of http://www.ti.com/product/MSP430F1232/toolssoftware for software.

Don't see any reason for starting with old MSP430F1xx family. MSP430G2xx / MSP430FRxx / MSP430F5xx on launchpad board is better choice for start.

I have replaced F2002 by G2232 in one of my project. The benefit is larger SRAM and built-in calibration data for temperature sensor. I don't need to calibrate the temperature sensor in production line any more.
