Part Number: MSP-FET430UIF
Dear community
I took over an old MSP430 project from my co-worker, who was working on the Rowley CrossStudio V1.4.3 (almost 10 years old). When I try to connect, the IDE tries either to upgrade the firmware (and gets stuck) or is not able to initialize the MSP-FET430UIF (Version 1.3 and MSP430.dll version 2). I think this due to that the firmware and the MSP430.dll got out of sync.
Now my question is there any way to match the dll to the current firmware version or the other way around. Furthermore, I know that there is somekind of a up/downgrade tool available, but this didn't help me alot...
Thank you and best regards
Daniel
Hi Caleb,
Actually I have two different errors depending on the dll version. I could narrow down that my MSP-FET430UIF was most probably working with the Rowley CrossWorks Version 1.3.2. I went back from version to version and saw that until 1.3.3 the IDE shows this "error":
The actual error occurs during the upgrading process, where the update software hangs during the bootloader initialisation:
Rowley provides an external update tool (they said its directly from TI) called MSP_FET430UIF_Setup.exe. There the upgrading process gets stuck as well.
When I got back to an older version of the IDE, for example 1.3.2 then the IDE is not able to connect at all and shows the following error:
Sounds like the same problem as for the upgrading process, but there I'm not sure...
Please let me know if you need anything else. Thank you again and best regards
Daniel
Hi Caleb,
No, thank you. I wasn't able to downgrade the MSP-FET to a correct version, so we decide to go the other way and bought a new SW license, updated the FET and now it is working again.
Best regards
Daniel
