MSP430FR2633: Captivate design center: NullPointerException

When switching between projects in Captivate design center (1.50.00.00, Windows), I cannot open any project any more.

In the CaptivateDesignCenter.log I see a NullPointerException:

After removing project folder CapTIvateDesignCenter_1_50_00_00, and restarting Captivate design center, I can open a project once again. But switching between project still doens't work.

    Hello Wouter,

    First let's confirm some basic information. What operating system are you running? What version of Java are you on?
    Can you also provide a screenshot of what your screen looks like right before the error happens? This could help us get pointed int he right direction to what is happening.
    One possibility is that the file path is too long. Can you move up the workspace path and see if the error persists?

    I'm using Windows 10, Java 8 update 151 (64-bit) right now.

    Here is a screenshot of the situation. Every time I click 'select', the npe appears in the log, and this pop-up window does not close.

    Hello,

    We think we know what you are doing here now. It seems you are loading up a workspace and project (as per default startup) and then trying to open a new workspace at the same location as a new project. This kind of inception seems to break the GUI. If you just want to start a new project, then just use File -> Project Open or File -> Project -> New without trying to start a new workspace. If you do want an entirely different workspace beyond the default, then you will need to create a workspace that is not under the example workspace or the same folder as a project. In a new workspace, create a new subfolder that will be your new project.

    We will add this issue to our tracker to make improvements in the future.

    Well, I was not trying to create a new project, but just opening different (existing) example projects. Now I get it: I have to select a workspace one folder level higher than the project I want to open. After selecting the correct workspace folder (in this case CapTIvateDesignCenterWorkspace), I can open the different example projects.
