CCS/MSP-FET430UIF: Issue connecting to MSP-FET430UIF, Windows 10 related?

my customer is having issues connecting to the MSP-FET430UIF in CCSv7.1 on Windows 10. The target is an MSP430 in our DRV9x family, but I do not think the problem is related to this.
There are a few threads existing about this, but none of them has an approved solution.

When my customer creates a new project and clicks on Connection -> Identify, they get the following error message (without the promt to update the debugger):

I have tried the same on my machine running Windows 7 and CCSv7.3. I have no issues connecting to the MSP-FET430UIF after it asks to update the debugger.

Can you instruct your customer to delete the drivers for the MSP-FET430UIF then reinstall them from here: http://www.ti.com/tool/MSPDS

Other than in my original post, this problem might be related to the CCS version + target combination. The installed CCSv7 is too new for the DRV9x target.

If the driver is actually the problem, I think your post should be the solution.

Hi Caleb,

I added another post and I marked them both as the answer.
My customers problem seems to be related to the combination of CCS version and the target he uses. There was no need to reinstall the driver yet. So I think your answer was correct if there is a driver issue, but it turned out my customer had a differentissue :)
