RTOS/MSP432P4111: Execution graph Time Axis is incorrect

G'Day all,

If you look at the attached Execution Graph screen grab (ignore the arrows!), the time between the measurement marks is reported to be about 27mSec, but I know from external measurements (CRO on a pin being toggled) that the period is 1.68mSec. It appears the Execution Graph time base is out by a factor of 16!

Any ideas why?

I do notice that this question is similar to the following two issues:

In both those issues there is a comment saying the problem should be resolved in CCS v8.1.

Unfortunately, this problem only appeared for me *after* I installed CCS v8.1 (though colleagues working on the same project have had this issue since somewhere in the CCS v7 series).

If you could confirm and also attach the .cfg file, then I can append to bug DVT-1968.

G'Day Chris,

I've grabbed my MSP-EXP432P4111 launchpad, loaded in the SYSBIOS Clock example from Resource explorer, dropped in your .cfg file (complete project is attached) and in execution graph I see 79mSec between executions of the clock function!

Thank you for running that example. My colleage pointed out that within the drivers there is a check between the P401 and P4111 devices. Unfortunately, I tested on the P401 and sent the .cfg not realizing that the kernel would make the clock dynamic based upon the device. Not sure if that makes sense, but the knl_Clock_workFunc__E() is periodic while the 'workFuncDynamic' is dynamic. More specific to the original question, this is an error and should have been fixed with the P401 which was identified in the original post.

My colleague will be filing a bug to get this resolved for the P4111.

Here is a potential work around which alerts the tool to the CPU frequency that is changed at run time.

UIAMetaData = xdc.useModule('ti.uia.runtime.UIAMetaData');
UIAMetaData.cpuFreq.lo = 48000000;
UIAMetaData.timestampFreq.lo = 48000000;
