CCS/MSP430FR2433: "Add CTPL to an Existing Application" option not available

Part Number: MSP430FR2433
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430WARE

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hi, I am using an MSP430FR2433 and hoping to utilize the CTPL FRAM Utilities. Based on the "MSP MCU FRAM Utilities version 03.10.00.10" Documentation, I should be able to add it to an existing application but I have no options when I go into Source> "Apply Project Templates". As in, it's just an empty list. I have just reinstalled CCS so am on Version: 8.2.0.00007.

Any help appreciated thanks.

  • Hey Jame,

    In CCS, try navigating to:

    View > Resource Explorer > Software > MSP430Ware > Devices > MSP430FR2XX_4XX > MSP430FR2433 > Middleware > FRAM Utilities > Example Projects > CTPL

You should be able to import any of these projects into your work space.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Mitch,

I am able to access the example projects, but am not able to easily add CTPL to existing projects (IE: I want to add CTPL to a Driverlib project) Please refer to the documentation I mentioned, under the section "Add to existing projects" to see what I mean.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Jame,

It seems like you don't have the plug-in installed.

    • First, make sure you install the MSP-FRAM-UTILITIES:
    • When you open CCS (after restarting PC), you should get a pop-up window indicating that a new software was found and then you can install it.
    • If you don't, go to Window->Preferences->Code Composer Studio->Products, and click on Rediscover (note that the path for MSP-FRAM-UTILITES should be in the discovery path)

    • Select the FRAM Utilities:

    • Restart CCS when asked.
    • Now you should be able to see the option:

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Luis R
