Looks like you are using the AWS IoT plugin: www.ti.com/.../simplelink-sdk-plugin-for-awsiot Let me know if this assumption is wrong.

Can you provide
* The IDE/RTOS combination with which you are seeing the issue
* Plugin and MSP432E4 SDK version being used

Are you testing the example without any modifications?

Yes, this issue got solved when I used the verisign root certificate.
