Tool/software: Code Composer Studio
Hi,
I have 2 new MSP-FET debug devices. For that reason I installed CCS 9.0.1.00004.
After connection of the first MSP-FET, the drivers was shown in the right section of the device driver window: LPT & COM.
After starting CCS and try to start the debugger, the driver disapears from LPT & COM and new drivers apears in Human Interface devices.
The debugger does not start.
Same with the second MSP-FET device.
Any suggestions?
Thx, Manfred
Hi Manfred,
Make sure the MSP-FET is plugged into a USB 2.0 port directly into your computer (not a USB 3 port or USB hub)
Are you using a custom board to connect the MSP-FET to? If not, what TI EVM are you using?
Thanks,
-Chris
Hi Chris,
thank you for your answer.
I tried also with USB2.0 and it was the same.
Until last week I worked with IAR 5.40 workbench and the older MSP-FET430UIF (grey one).
Because of hardware defect I ordered the successor type MSP-FET (black one) because of thwe old one is not available anymore.
But the new one is not compatible to IAR 5.40. For that reason I installed the CCS 9.
As I described, first plug in of the MSP-FET install the right drivers and it is shown in the device manager under COM & LPT with reasonable driver names "MSP....".
After try to start the debug session with CCS, the drivers in COM/LPT desapears and immediately 2 new drivers apears in the HID area.
After that it is not possible to change the driver back to the original driver because Windows tells me the driver is not a HID driver.
If I uninstall the device and connect it again, the HID driver is installed again :-(
I have connected the MSP-FET to my hardware, which was used also with the old debug device.
Any idea, whow I can remove the HID driivers und install the original again?
Regards,
Manfred
Hi Manfred,
Have you attempted checking in the Windows device manager under Human Interface Devices to install the HID drivers?
-Chris
Hi Chris,
yes, thank you.
I installed the MSP430Flasher on another PC and there it was possible to flash the firmware into the MSP-FET.
Now both devices are working also on my PC.
Manfred
