I've been working with MSP430 for 10 years and one thing bothers me: the debugging/programming link is not very stable.
For battery fed applications, there's usually no problem, but If there is a switching power supply, or when switching high currents/ voltages, the debugger loses the connection, crashes, breaks,...
I recently bought an MSP-ISO board, that uses a ISO1541DR chip do make the seperation.
