MSP-GANG: Fails to read and display INFOB, INFOC & INFOD memory locations

Part Number: MSP-GANG
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MSP430F2012

Good day,

I have (two) MSP-GANG programmers and have a problem when reading the INFO memory locations from a MSP430F2012 device

.Both units have the latest firmware loaded and both units behave in the same way. (Firmware version "A430: 01.03.04.00")

Reading the contents of a device can be be done in two different ways; directly from main panel using the "Read" button or via the "View" menu and selecting "Flash Memory Data".

However using either of these methods only the first 16 bytes from INFOD (0x1000 - 0x100F) section are correctly displayed,

The other locations from thereon (0x1010 to 0x10BF) are always displayed as "FF", regardless of the actual data in these locations.

These locations are correctly read & displayed using the MSPFlasher dll or via Code Composer Studio.

Any help would be appreciated.

Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thanks for your detailed post. This does sound like a bug. Can you share your Setup > Memory Options settings?

This is a good data point.
