Running the msp432p401r using IAR with the XDS200 debugger.
I believe I somehow corrupted the flash on my MSP432. The flash downloader gives an error "the flash loader program reported an error," and when I download without the flash loader no variables are able to hold a value other than '0.'
I'd like to perform a factory reset, but the only thread I've seen for this is for the pre-written script in CCS (e2e.ti.com/.../481391).
From the Family Guide I see its possible to send a factory reset over JTAG.
What are the steps for doing this with my XDS200?
Cheers,
Maurizio
Hi Maurizio!
The link in your post does not work, so I don't know where it leads to, so sorry if it is one of the things I link in.
Did you try this?
MSP432P401R launchpad DOA? - MSP low-power microcontroller forum - MSP low-power microcontrollers - TI...
CORTEX_M4_0: Error connecting to the target: (Error -1063 @ 0x0) Device ID is not recognized or is not...
This document shows how to perform a factory reset (page 28). Hopefully one of those things works for you.
Dennis
Edit: Stupid me - just saw you are using IAR. Maybe section 5.4.1 in this document?
DE:
The MSP is on a custom board, not a launchpad. So there is no option to use the XDS 110 debugger (which I believe is required for the CMSIS DAP driver).
In that same document (the final one you sent) was a discussion on how to do a reset using a Seggers J-Link, but again all I currently have access to is the XDS 200.
Cheers,
Maurizio
