Hello Cho,
With regard to the customer's first question: VREF is connected to the MCU and monitored by the voltage supervisor in case VREF has high noise and voltage ripple. The voltage supervisor monitors VREF's voltage very closely, and only allows noise and ripple within the millivolt range. This monitoring allows VREF to give an accurate reference voltage and keep the SOx outputs noiseless.
With regard to the customer's second question: VREF monitoring is not mandatory. In the customer's case, their VREF is being supplied by AVDD, which provides a stable voltage with low noise. The customer will get good SOx outputs with this reference. Therefore, it would be appropriate to remove the ADC connection from the MCU in the customer's case.
Best,
Johnny
