BOOSTXL-DRV8301: What is the maximum allowable input power for this driver?

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8301

Hello,

I am trying to power the motor driver through a 22.2v battery.

and this BOOSTXL-DRV3801 has input power up to 24v.

When the battery is fully charged, the battery voltage is a little over 25v, is that ok?
Considering the input power, I purchased a 6-cell Li-Po battery (3.7v per cell), but this problem occurred.

Can I use it?

  • Hi Dong-Young,

You can use 25-V on this board with no issue. Bulk supply caps C20 and C21 are 50-V rated, which is recommended for 24-V battery power recommendations. I would ensure to stay under 15-A as connectors and FETs are only rated for up to 15 to 18A.

    Thanks,
    Aaron
