DRV8846EVM: Software compatibility issue with Windows 10?

Hi Experts,

Good day. Seeking help about OS compatibility with DRV8846EVM.

We have some problems with DRV8846EVM card for motor stepper control. We bought this card a few years ago and had no problem but with our new PC, we can't get it to work anymore, maybe there is a problem with Windows10?

We have an error message when launching the software. It says it can't find the index.html file but the file is in the folder. We had downloaded the sllc446a folder from the ti website.DRV8846EVM Software (Rev. A) — SLLC446A.ZIP (2296KB)

Archie,

We will investigate. We all run Windows 10 on our PCs, so that shouldn't be the issue. Sometimes we run into permission issues that prevent the GUI from running. Could that be it here?

Hi ArTzy,

Did you follow step 3 of the installations instruction in the User's Guide? If you did not copy the GUI folder to the C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\ directory.

Hello Pablo,

As per customer, they have launched the script (Ink_msp430f2617) which is in the firmware folder and the soft starts normally without error message.

Any further support? Thank you very much.

Hi Artzy,

Is the customer now able to use the GUI with no issues? I will investigate why running the script seems to fix the error message but if they are not having any more issues, I can close this post and get reply back if I learn anything about the script.
