DRV8308EVM: DRV8308EVM is not detecting hardware

HI,

we are planning to use DRV8308EVM for driving BLDC motor with hall sensor motor.(offline mode)

1. installed GUIComposerApp-0.1.0.setup-win_2.0.4 and gcruntime-2.0.4-windows-installer.exe ( even we tried with gcruntime-2.0.6-windows-installer.exe and gcruntime-7.1.0-windows-installer.exe ) as per user guide and ti e2e https://e2e.ti.com/support/motor-drivers-group/motor-drivers/f/motor-drivers-forum/964472/drv8308evm-gui-install

But GUi is not detecting the hardware. even verified USB detected (TI FTDI drivers installed) ( even we are using CCS in this PC for C2000 micro controller)

2. i tried to open serial port in GUI but it allowing to open to it.

Please guide us in step by step

Hi Vasanth,

Do you have any other GUI running along with this GUI? Can you go to https://dev.ti.com/gallery/search/DRV8308 and click the DRV8308_EVM and launch the online GUI? Can you check if you can connect to the EVM using the online GUI?

HI Vishnu,

Thanks for your solution. Now it is working. But less than 15% duty , motor is not responding. i observed that above 15% duty only motor rotating . i want control motor 1% to 99% duty cycle.

can you please tell what change should i do , in order to control the speed over 1% to 99% duty cycle ( in any mode)

Hi Vasanth,

Can you change the speed mode to clock frequency mode? Also, can you enable autogain and autoadv?
