When using the MCT8316A and MCF8316A, VM short-to-ground conditions occur frequently. What could be the possible reason? Thanks.

    Hi Cherry,

    When you say "short to ground", do you mean the voltage at VM dropped to 0v, or there is low resistance from VM to GND? I would think if the output current is too high this can pull the VM pin down if the supply is not strong enough, but then this is the power supply issue and not the driver.
