BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS: heat and noise issue

Part Number: BOOSTXL-DRV8323RS

Hi team,

1) The error status register values read when communicating with the DRV8323RS are 0x0080 and 0x0040, which are VM Undervoltage Lockout (UVLO) and charge Pump Undervoltage (CPUV), respectively. The supply voltage is 9V, the charge pump voltage is 17V as measured by the multimeter, the other registers are all correctly read initial values, and the nFault pin is not pulled low.

2) When the voltage is added to 24 V, the chip is significantly hot (the temperature is high and it immediately heats up to hot in 2-3s) with the acustic noise. There is no MOS attached to the peripheral.

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry
