Hi Ti Expert,

We are using motor controller DRV10983Q1EVM and connected it with USB2ANY. The application is DRV10983Q1 EVM GUI.

We are operating a 3 phase BLDC motor. After giving 12V to motor controller for the 1st time, the motor started running.

The motor parameters given were :

i) Phase Resistance = 1.164

ii)BEMF Constant (Kt) = 73.6

The speed command range given in GUI is 0-511.

In our first attempt, we gave speed command of 511.

In this condition our motor achieved high speed and after 5 seconds the motor stopped.

Then we stopped the software and gave 100 value of speed command. But motor didn't work.

We restarted the GUI again and followed the same steps but motor didn't work.

Please help us regarding this concern and if there is any doubt, feel free to ask question.

Vaibhav,

After applying 12V to VCC, can you check if you read 5V on VREG, 3.3V on V3P3 and 1.8V on V1P8? If you don't read these voltages then the device is most likely damaged.

Vaibhav,

1. Is the GUI connection successful? Can you read the EEPROM registers from the GUI?

2. After confirming step 1, can you issue speed command and check if there is any PWM voltage seen on Phase U, V or W?

I want to check if it is a GUI or device issue.

Hello Vishnu,

I had the GUI problem before, but it is resolved now. Can you explain about how to read the EEPROM registers from GUI?

We have connected the 3 phases of motor with DRV10983Q1EVM board with 12V supply. CRO probe is connected with motor phase to phase.

Initially when power was given, the output condition was this.

After 20sec, we recieved a spike in voltage and then output was 0.

Please help us regarding this concern and if there is any doubt, feel free to ask question.

Vaibhav,

Can you measure the phase voltage with respect to Ground instead of measuring across two phases? Also, can you set the time scale to 500 ms and capture the oscilloscope voltage plot?

Hello Vishnu,

As you said, I have made the connection with ground and phase.

The time duration set here is 400ms and we are getting this waveform.

If we scale it to 20ms, you can notice we are getting the same result which we sent you earlier.

Can you make sure you are reading voltage above 6.2V on VCC? In the GUI "basic settings" tab, can you click ""eeRefresh" button to make sure the GUI communication is successful?
