What type of Charge Pump is used inside the DRV8876? Switching Regulator Boost Pump / Untrimmed Capacitor Charge Pump / Trimmed Capacitor Charge Pump?

Customers would like to know which Charge Pump is used inside the DRV8876 to help them in their application.

Hi Guohai,

Not sure about the specific topology name but the charge pump is a simple flyback cap charging and the discharging its energy to the charge pump cap. This process repeats until the VCP cap is fully charged.

Guohai,

The VCP can be used for external circuits as long as the current draw from the VCP pin is no more than ~5mA.
