DRV8906-Q1: What is load condition shown in table Table 8-12? nFAULT current limitation?

Hi team,

(1) What is load condition shown in table Table 8-12?

(2) Does it have recommended nFAULT current range? We will use 10mA sinc current to nFAULT by using 5V supply and 500ohm pull up resistor, is it no problem?

Hi Ochi-san,

Are you referring to this table:

The load configuration as well if it is open or connection is shown in the LOAD/OPEN column. Can you let me know if this is what your question was and if not can you give me more clarification.

5 mA is the maximum sink current, so 10 mA would violate that spec.

Hello Ochi-san,

1) Are you referring to this table:

Then for a given load configuration you can set the fault reaction and see if IPROPI and ITRIP is available. This is only for independent mode for the HW variant.

The IOL in this case is 5 mA and you don't want to exceed that spec to make sure VOL (VnFAULT in datasheet) doesn't exceed 0.3 V. I think you can probably just edit the title and it should be fine. The appnote screenshot that I sent before is still applicable.

Does "high side load" meam "both of high side FETs are turned on"?

Do you mean we need higher than 5mA sink current to make sure VOL does not exceed 0.3V (Lower pull down resisor is fine)? Or do you mean we need to use Rpullup_min = 5V / 5mA = 1kohm?
