DRV8316C: Power supply sequence

Part Number: DRV8316C

Hello team,

In the use case that the power supply rails are separated between VM and VIN(for Logic), is there any problem if VIN is supplied when the VM=0V?
I'm expected there is no issue such as a large current leakage path.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi S.Sawamoto,

There should not be any problem if VIN is supplied when the VM=0V. Logic-level voltage inputs tend to not damage anything because there's not enough power dissipation. The circuit is also not supposed to operate as it is not energized, so receiving logic-high inputs won't accidentally operate the device.

    Regards,

    Yara
